Time to exit gracefully

All the political pundits are saying it is statistically impossible for Hillary Clinton to win the Democratic nomonation. Why then is she still pressing on? Why does she fail to see the truth? Why is she being so stubborn? Really – would we want someone with this type of mindset leading our country?

It is time to stop the madness. At this point she is only hurting the party and making herself look silly. The Democratic Party needs this time to prepare for the fight of its life. The next few months should be very interesting.

There's a rumor that she has offered to withdraw from the race on two conditions- that they make her the leader of the Senate, and that they pay off her campaign debt.

If that's true, it's an interesting strategy. She's saying, in essence, "Buy me off or I'm taking the whole party down with me."

I'm not sure; but, I think her continuing doesn't hurt Obama. He is acting as if he, and he almost assuredly does, have it. He can in a low key way turn his attention to McCain, as McCain is tending to turn to him, rather than them.

The period of time, in the short term, allows her to save face and her supporters to get used to the idea that the Dem candidate is Obama.

She is already moving to the end, saying things like "if I'm President" rather than "when I'm President.
